Today I am here with you with a food review. I am a very foodie person, it can be said that it is a hobby of mine to test the different flavors of different restaurants in different countries. Today I came to White Chapel in London... for lunch. It’s not Bengali food, it’s Bangladeshi food just so you know- I tried the kachchi biryani which is a baby lamb biryani that is one of their top sellers and was flavourful indeed. However,The prices are great.

Sadly the management at this restaurant either doesn't understand UK consumer law or is unwilling to implement said law. We ordered the murgh pillow alongside an extra piece of chicken roast. When the food arrived we were not satisfied with the taste nor quality of the murgh pillow. The chicken appeared to have not been marinated adequately and seemed to just be a piece of tandoori chicken with roast sauce smeared on top almost as an afterthought. Notifying the waiter of our displeasure with respect to the food, we promptly asked him to take the dishes back from whence they came having only sampled one mouthful. At this point we were inclined to leave the restaurant and not order anything further. However, we were offered the option of ordering an alternative item from the menu. We took it upon ourselves to give the restaurant a chance to redeem themselves and ordered the lamb bhuna kichuri. When it arrived, we found the kichuri to have much more flavour and to have better execution than the first round of dishes. We eat most of the kichuri and asked to have the remainder as a takeaway. It is at this point proceedings took a shocking turn for the worse. I approached the counter to pay for the meal and was shocked to be asked to pay for the two dishes we had sent back in addition the kichuri! The manager refused to accept that we did not need to pay for the items even though we had sent the items back almost completely untouched. He then subsequently was willing to only take the chicken roast off the bill but still maintained we needed to pay for the murgh pillow. Following a conversation with the manager (which lasted almost 15 mins) we were asked to leave the restaurant without paying even for the meal we had eaten (kichuri) despite my insistence that we pay for it. Our visit to Hajji Nanna Biryani was a thoroughly unpleasant experience which left a very bad taste in the mouth both metaphorically and figuratively. Suffice to say, I will not be visiting this establishment again anytime soon.

Good biryani... But very poor service. Asked for 3 main dishes, got 2. Asked for a glass and never got. Ordered 2 teas and received 20 mins later. I refused to drink those teas due to excessive lateness. Those guys added extra cost to menu prices to make up tea cost. Cheaters. Proper deshi batpars. Owners should look on it. It takes very little to go down. With these low mentality waiters, they will go down.
