FAQ

What is the temple's history and tradition?

At Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre, we follow the tradition of Kadampa Buddhism. This tradition dates back to the ancient Indian Buddhist master Atisha and emphasizes the integration of meditation into daily life as a means for achieving inner peace and happiness.

What types of Buddhist supplies do you offer?

We offer a wide range of Buddhist supplies, including meditation cushions and benches, Buddhist statues, malas, incense, and books on Buddhism and meditation. We also offer a selection of candles, jewelry, and gift items.

What is your return policy for defective or damaged items?

If you receive a defective or damaged item, please contact us within 14 days of receipt, and we will do our best to resolve the issue. We may offer a replacement item, a refund, or a store credit, depending on the circumstances.

How are your rice cakes made?

Our rice cakes are made using traditional Japanese methods. We start with high-quality rice, which is steamed and then pounded into a smooth, sticky dough. The dough is then shaped into small cakes and grilled until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We offer both sweet and savory flavors.

Are your meditation instructors certified or trained in any particular tradition?

Yes, all of our meditation instructors are trained in the tradition of Kadampa Buddhism and have completed rigorous training programs through one of the Kadampa Meditation Centers around the world. They are experienced practitioners who are dedicated to helping others find peace and happiness through meditation.

A place where you feel relaxed straight away. Idyllic cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating ... in beautiful garden when weather permits. Lovely welcoming community and great place to learn about meditation.

Lovely place . I have tried a couple of meditation classes here and really enjoyed them. Although a little out of my comfort zone, but you know what they say, there's no growth in the comfort zone and there's no comfort in the growth zone. The cafe is superb too,,🙏

We just visited the cafe, cheap prices compared to other places, outside seating, plenty of parking only basic items on menu though tea/coffee, toasties but ok for a light bite. Also has a couple of short walks at site, we did the one around lake ourselves. The lake was totally covered in the green algae but you are supposes to keep dogs on leads anyway. You can also do meditation sessions here but haven't tried myself.

Another regular cycling club cafe stop for us and for good reason. The food, drink and service are excellent and the karma is calming. Inside and outside seating in lovely grounds. It's a grand venue hosting all manner of meditation and health sessions. Top notch as a general cafe stop as well.
