Definitely going back. A lovely calm place to be. Beautiful artwork and decor filled with plants and good vibes. If I was local I would absolutely enjoy participating in the meditation classes etc. We had a very delicious vegan brunch with golden turmeric latte. Look forward to our next visit.

What a shame ... Firstly, it's really nice to see more vegan options on the menu including vegan meals in the evening for events, especially as this is more in line with Buddhist beliefs of not harming and being kind to all animals. There are still a few vegetarian options that include eggs and dairy such as cakes/main menu, but I'm really hoping this will be completely phased out over time. The actual vegan food and drinks were lovely, and the cafe itself had a very calming atmosphere with welcoming and friendly staff. I must say we were very disappointed when a 'friendly' volunteer actually turned out to be an ex butcher who had not long sold his establishment of pain, suffering, and death. We understand the cafe is run by volunteers but we personally found this very odd, uncomfortable, and unsuitable especially considering Buddhist beliefs/ethics and the beliefs/ethics of the people who may visit/eat here including us. It was even more disturbing when the person went on to tell us how they were craving meat and went to McDonald's to get their fix, and fed raw meat/blood to their dog. Especially as we are both vegan and had not long finished our lunch, it literally turned our stomachs! We had really enjoyed our vegan lunch but unfortunately this left us feeling very sick and ruined it for us, and so we won't be returning again anytime soon because of this. For future volunteers we think you should really carefully consider who you have serving and interacting with customers, what a shame!

Always a pleasure to come here, a secret and cosy spot right in the centre of town and next to the cathedral. I come here sometimes for a work lunch, a Saturday cafe or a celebration with friends. Food and drinks are great - staff from all over the world enjoying working visits to Leicester… And of course the meditation classes are a joy. Highly recommended

This review is overdue but very well deserved, I spent my summer here volunteering and getting to know such a lovely scene filled amazing characters and genuine souls. I had experiences here that money can't buy. The events here are very well organized and civilized for the ordinary person looking to expand there horizons or the experienced folk looking to get their hands wet on topics of how to empower yourself and your daily lives. Kadampa accepts all and with it comes a beautiful way of living. Nothing can replicate the tight knit with the community held here, right in the heart of Leicester! Cheers, love, kisses and hugs Your dear friend.
