I would like to give a belated thank you to Holly the receptionist, who was very kind and helpful last year. She was very sympathetic and helped me with a GP appointment for my Mother. My Mother has recently had the knee surgery and is already much better. On a different note, I have just read a one star review for Dunnington surgery, which I think is harsh. It is coming up as 3 months old but criticises Dr Crowley. Dr Crowley was my Dr and he hasn’t worked there in a long while. He was ill and then I believe he went to Australia, a few years ago now. He was always a lovely caring Dr and immediately picked up on any medical issues, including my gallbladder. Also Dr Alison Travis has been at Dunnington for many years. She is just the best. I also had severe anaemia a few years ago. As soon as I walked into her surgery, she said I think you are anaemic. A subsequent blood test confirmed this and I was straight into Outpatients and iron transfusions. She is good at her job and kind. She has always been helpful to both myself and my Mother. I just want to balance the other review. We are lucky to have a surgery in Dunnington and we all missed it, when it closed temporarily for covid. Things aren’t the same now unfortunately post covid.

I cannot say how disappointed I am with this practice! Neither can I recommend this surgery! This is because, it took them 18 months to tell me I was type 2 diabetic. In fact, I told them, as they had failed to open the email, telling them this! 😡 And it wasn’t until a hospital doctor told me, that I brought it to their attention! I honestly think that these doctors DON’T care! I’ve waited and waited, for appointments, only to find that the receptionist have failed to book me in (5 times). The practice doesn’t care about wasting your time, or the agony that you’re in and you have to go through the whole system again! I finally had an appointment (for arthritis pain relief, anxiety and depression), for tomorrow morning, but that’s just been cancelled! I’ve been without any pain killlers and antidepressants, for months and not one doctor seems to care, whilst I’m rolling around in Agony! Unless you have to go to this doctors; choose a different one! In addition to the above, I went to see Alison Travis, because I was out of breath turning out of bed. She told me it was because I was fat, without any examination. I went back, three months later and saw Dan Crowley, who suggested it was because I was stressed! After insisting on a blood test, I was severely anaemic! Nothing to do with my weight - thank you! 😡
