I join the list of all the people that had had bad experience. They clearly do business with real estate agency, there's no protection for tenants. It's a shame. I opened a dispute and wasted time, even with an arrogant Alexander Green Agency in Cambridge they gave them right and cut my deposit back. Only the tenants know the reality of this dirty business

A complete kangaroo court. If you are a tenant DO NOT ALLOW THE AGENT TO USE THIS SCHEME. My landlord withheld my entire deposit and the check-out report when I left the property in October 2022 and I have only today received a generic response from MyDeposits as to why they made an award to the Landlord. Their telephone staff are rude and unhelpful, their adjudicators are alarmingly unqualified to perform their role, and their complaints team are knowingly contemptuous of their own rules and procedures. Expect them to make an award without any explanation of their decision and without any attempt to accurately quantify the cost of the alleged damage. They do not care about you or your deposit, they are seeking to make an award to the landlord by any means necessary - if you don't believe me, look up their CEO and see the other firms he heads.

Run away from them they rob you with monstrous arrogance. You bargain to give the owner 100 pounds. They take your 100 pounds and the money the owner claims. It's a gift to him how does my deposit justify that? Because when you fill in the document you say you're giving 100 pounds in negotiations but they take the money the owner claims on top of that. Run away from this agency !!!!!

I was struggling in a horrid situation of my brother passing away. He was the tenant. Everything was dealt with by us and I didn't know where to stand when the landlady decided to withhold the deposit. Mydeposits were helpful through email then I decided to get in touch. More than one month since I raised the dispute because my landlord hasn't given back the security deposit without providing any reason, but not a single update from this so called protection scheme. The sent box are full of mails to MyDeposits now!!

Would give zero stars if possible. Previous tenant trashed our property. Causes thousands of pounds of damage. MyDeposits took three months to even look at the case, before awarding the tenant 25% of their deposit back. It was clear from their write up report that they didn't even read the check-out report supplied as evidence and of course there's no recourse for a complaint. Avoid avoid avoid.

Had very poor experience with mydeposit as a landlord. Inspite of acknowledging the evidence of damages caused by misuse, adjudicator decided to reimburse just small percentage of the claim and major chunk to be considered as wear and tear. And no idea of how it has been worked out. It didn't seem to be professional at all.

The time frames this company uses are inexcusable. It took nearly 5 months from moving out to getting my deposit back, and I did my part as soon as I could (generally immediately) at each step. It's almost impossible to get an update or a response at any point. IMO this is all stacked in the landlords favour, they know if tenants need the money soon, they will just give up and accept deductions. As a tenant, avoid.
