    I have been with the Dental Practice since I was born in 1979 under Mr Perkins. I stayed on when MyDentist took over the practice. I had regular check ups as an NHS patient. I have cystic fibrosis so when covid hit I was shielding and because of my compromised immunity. I continued this long after the shielding programme ended on the advice of my hospital. I avoided all unnecessary trips anywhere and even did many of my hospital visits via Zoom. I’m still suffering with my mental health from covid lockdowns. I contacted my practice today (Scarborough, North Marine Rd) to make an appointment and was told I was removed from the system but they would see me if I went private which I can’t afford because I’m not working (due to my cystic fibrosis). I was informed they cant see me as it’s been over two years. This is disgusting. I tried to explain my situation but they weren’t interested in the slightest. I am also in touch with the charity POhWER and lodged a complaint with head office. Absolutely shocking.

    Extremely upset about my latest experience with MyDentist on North Marine Road. I have been coming to this practice for 2 decades. I have not once missed an appointment. I apparently missed one last week. I do not recall making this appointment, it must have been made when I called in an emergency in January regarding the pain from my wisdom teeth, which have still not been seen to by Scarborough Hospital as they continue cancelling my appointments. I received a letter over the weekend to say I had not attended said appointment during the week, but I have had no communications, be it letter or telephone call to confirm this appointment, and I do not know about it's existence. As far as I am concerned that is not binding. Apparently it is my fault that they are now too busy to make calls and also my fault that they have never asked for my mobile number. Which bring attention to what about your patients that do not own a mobile phone and still use a landline? Therefore I am now 1 missed or late appointment away from being taken off the books. NOT ONCE have I missed an appointment yet YOU have continued to cancel check ups for the past few years which you have also not rebooked at your expense. I have raised a complaint and am ready to take it further, I do not accept fault on this occasion for a missed appointment that I had no communications about. I would appreciate it if the reception team had a little more empathy and compassion towards this issue.
