Yes, all of our midwives are licensed and certified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the UK. They have completed rigorous education and training programs to ensure that they provide safe and high-quality care to our patients.

What is the typical cost of using your midwifery services and are they covered by insurance?

Our fees vary depending on the specific services that a patient requires. We recommend that patients contact us directly for a detailed estimate of costs. While many insurance plans cover midwifery services, we recommend that patients check with their insurance provider to confirm coverage.

What is your midwives' philosophy on pain management during childbirth?

At My Private Midwife, we believe in helping women to manage pain during childbirth using a variety of non-pharmacologic techniques, such as relaxation, massage, and breathing techniques. We also offer pharmacologic pain management options, such as nitrous oxide and epidurals, for patients who request them. Ultimately, we support each woman's choice regarding pain management during childbirth.

I had a wonderful experience with Odette and Nyree, who looked after me when I had my first baby. I was worried about NHS maternity services being disrupted due to COVID, so having their expert and responsive care made all the difference to my pregnancy and birth experience (plus they answered all my questions via whatsapp for several weeks afterwards!) Highly recommended for anyone looking for a private midwife in London.

When we first contacted Odette she answered within minutes and we arranged our first consultation. It was uncomplicated, and we soon found her very knowledgeable, warm and trustworthy. As we were new to the UK, and it was our first baby, Odette explained everything very well and helped us with so many things. She had an answer to all our questions. She is truly a wonderful, passionate and professional midwife and we both felt very at ease after our meetings with her. Thank you so much for everything and we are very happy to have met you. We would absolutely recommend her. Petra, Octavio and Noel.

Odette was incredible and I would highly recommend an appointment with her. We recently had our first baby and left the hospital feeling overwhelmed and underprepared. Various Standard follow up appointments with NHS health visitors/midwifes made us feel confused and deflated due to conflicting lots of advice. Odette came over and gave us the confidence boost we needed. She checked over both me and my baby throughly and reassured us that we were doing great. We had so many questions and Odette advised us on each one with simple/manageable organic changes that we knew we could introduce easily. I would 100% recommend Odette to anyone expecting or postnatal, the advice And care we received from her have been invaluable and we are still implementing her advice even now!

We've used My Private Midwife services for our first baby, both pre & post natal, and have had an amazing experience. Odette is really professional, knowledgeable, always available and also lovely. She will talk you through all options but let you make your own informed decision. Through the sessions and her advice, we felt really prepared at each stage of the pregnancy and for birth. I had a very positive birth experience and I'm sure it is thanks to her fantastic support and preparation. Post Natal services have also been really complete, with visits throughout the first few days and weeks of our baby. NHS support is really poor (especially during Covid), it was amazing to have Odette at hand to ask questions, concerns, check the baby top to bottom and have some initial help on taking care of a newborn. She is also really looking after the mum and checking recovery progress. I would highly recommend Odette and definitely will use her services again if needed :)

My husband and I were lucky enough to find Odette early on in my pregnancy and we had such a relaxed and incredible experience with her and Nyree’s help! We looked forward to each visit and we always learned something new from them. They both have a wealth of knowledge and I really appreciate their focus on natural methods and approach to birth as well as how to navigate through the medical system which I found especially helpful. Being in hospitals makes me incredibly anxious so the fact that we were able to have these meetings from the comfort of our own home never having to step foot in a hospital throughout the pregnancy helped make the experience so relaxing and enjoyable! I only wish the meetings could have lasted longer! As first time parents we were both anxious about many things and had lots of questions which Odette and Nyree were always ready to answer and reassure us whenever we reached out to them. It was such a relief to know they were just a phone call or message away. They really took such good care of us before during and after the birth. Odette came round the very next day to check on us. The first weeks with our beautiful boy we needed the support to know everything was going well. It can be quite intense as you and your child get to know each other. They were always there to calm us. They are both so loving and caring. We miss them and hope to have our next baby with their help too! Saskia, Per and baby Artem

Highly recommended. We messaged My Private Midwife early evening on a Saturday (wanting a one-off postnatal appointment 10 days postpartum due to poor experience at our local NHS clinic); Odette replied within minutes and offered an appointment that same evening or early on the following morning, Sunday. Odette not only covered specifics we wanted but went beyond, for example making numerous phone calls on our behalf to ensure our hospital corrected an error in antibiotics prescribed on discharge and advising about diet/supplements with a natural/organic focus. Odette also checked in with us over the following days despite us only having booked a one-off appointment. Definitely worth the fees; a warm, friendly, calming, professional and knowledgeable service. Thanks Odette.

I honestly don’t know how we would have got through the last six months without Odette! Her care and support both during pregnancy and after, whether in person or over the phone, has been incredible and she has been there for us whenever we have needed her, no matter how great or small our questions. She is the most lovely person and a truly fantastic midwife, and having her with us for the last six months has been one of the best decisions we have ever made!! We miss her visits greatly!!

We switched to Odette after having trouble with another private midwife and it was the best decision we made during our pregnancy - what a difference! She is very knowledgeable and will always tell you all of the options so you can make an informed decision. NHS hospital where I gave birth wanted to induce me at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes (diet controlled) but Odette helped me to make a decision to wait a bit longer and my baby was born naturally at 41 weeks without issues. The only thing I'm sorry about is not having Odette with us during the labour but it wasn't an option due to Covid. After labour she visited us at home and showed us how to care for a newborn - we don't have any family in the UK so it was a great help. Breastfeeding was going ok but she showed us little tricks on how to make it more comfortable for me and how to avoid cluster feeding. Perhaps most important thing was that she encouraged both me and my husband before and after labour as we were first time parents and kind of afraid of everything. We would definitely use her services again for our future pregnancy.

We were lucky to find Odette when I was 35 weeks pregnant and arrangements with another independent midwife fell through. She and her colleague Nyree put us at ease that we would have the best support for our home birth, and pre and post-natal care. In the end it was the most amazing, although very difficult!, experience to give birth in my own home, and they assisted us in the best way. They were always replying promptly to my messages and answered all doubts before and after the birth of my second baby. They both have a great deal of experience regarding pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding and they supported us in the best possible way. I cannot recommend them enough.

I can not recommend Odette enough! We decided last minute to go with a home birth due to the current situation with COVID-19 and didn’t want to be in a hospital. This is something that I would have never chosen to do and was very nervous about doing so. From start to finish Odette was absolutely amazing. Not only was she extremely professional providing the most incredible service far more information and help than what we would have ever got if we were at the hospital. But she was also extremely personable and on hand and always went above and beyond. Odette was always on hand either to come to me at short notice or on the other end of the phone to help with any concerns that I had. Thanks to Odette my labour was a very calming experience (completely different to what I had experienced before), and the aftercare was second to none. The support that Odette gave me was absolutely fantastic. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. She reassured me and guided me every step of the way. Checking in on me every day. Helping with my breastfeeding journey and ensuring that my mental health did not suffer in one bit what so ever. I can’t stress enough that a home birth is something we would never have considered but now it would be our only option.
