Took a long detour the other day to surprise my girlfriend with some dumplings from this place that she had been wanting to try for a long time. It's a bit off but will be worth the effort. Or so i thought... I was told that told they wouldn't serve me that night because they were busy. Such a bizarre experience and what an awful way to treat customers... (Their webpage specifically mentions you can 'pop in to order take away')

Honestly so so so so so disappointed about their food. We ordered potstickers, hai gau and siu mai. The potstickers took forever to come and the quality is so bad. I’m Chinese and growing up eating those, had high expectations of this place bc it seems like they are known for dumplings but I honestly cannot recommend this to anyone who wants to try real good dumplings. It’s such a shame I love their service and their homey interior.

Food was SO good, it was devoured before my phone could get a photo. My partner and I ordered (almost) everything on the dumpling menu and they were all delicious. As far as dumplings go, a few options were traditional dim sum (xiao mai & har gow) and the others were playfully personal takes on morsels of flavour. Don’t hold back here, order your heart out and save space for dessert! Service: lightening fast, had me nostalgic about the dim sum parlours back home in Hong Kong Improvement: would be nice if the staff could also to learn about the etiquette of “can we pls have a water top” when teapot lid is out and placed on the edge (see photo 👀)

Top dimsums, divine cold salad, steamed stone bass, chicken wings- definitely try the steamed cake with banoffee sauce & hazelnuts (it’s called Ma Lai Gao) - we sat downstairs at the Clapton restaurant and staff are very friendly and attentive - good drinks selection
