This is a mess-you-around company. Firstly mess you around by not being free for the meeting they arranged to have with you as the meeting is suppose to start, and having to arrange for another day. Secondly, taking a week since the meeting to decide they don't actually want to take on the work and they just email you to say they are too busy to take on the work and that fact you are getting quotes from other contractors means they don't want to compete. Save yourself time, don't bother with this contractor!!
