Fresh modern vibe with good public areas in that vein. Pool and table football, board games, bar and cafe makes for a lively ambience. Rooms are modern, small and lack storage space. Our Aircon did not work, which when reported at the end got the response....oh it's always playing up....not really what I was after. All in all though the location is ideal, just inside city walls easy walk to all the sites, bars and eateries.

A naff hotel, quite expensive & not much in return. Our room had no bath, fridge or wardrobe & was relatively cramped, the breakfast was lukewarm at best & the serving dishes were empty, the staff having to be prompted to refill them. Just to put the icing on the cake there were no salt & pepper cellars, an unusual affair in what supposed to be a quality hotel. Grown ups should avoid this place it's more like a youth club.

Funky and hip hotel and part of the Marriott chain. We cam over for the bank holiday weekend. The rooms are compact but new and clean. The shower is absolutely fantastic. Good pressure and constantly warm. One can stand in there for hours, especially after a hard day's of Dale walking! The staff were always absolutely superb! Poppy was the best in trying to sort out a late dinner for us. She was exceptional and had a crew who reflected her values. You can clearly see that she enjoys being hospitable. Kirsty and Simon were super too. However, the hotel gets a 4 star because of the vile and disgusting attitude of Amanda - the night manager (I presume). We arrived late and wanted a coffee from the machine which the security guard was just helping himself to and she simply refused. Did not want to know of our platinum ambassador status "I don't care - you are NOT having a coffee!" When I wanted to change £5 to coins to pay for the car park the response was a very blank "sorry! I don't have change" . Did not even check the till. Well, she's a jobs worth for sure and brings down all the good work done by others. Such a shame! The breakfast is good and they have limited but good healthy options too. There's no parking but they offer parking for £18 a night at Q-Park Shambles. However, one can park on a single yellow line from 6pm-8am for £4 literally opposite the hotel. There are 3 spaces (in front of a carpet shop) and we always found parking. So, if you are up early, you can save a few quid there. All in all a good stay! Will come back! Thank you Poppy and Kirsty!

It's a great hotel in a good location, just a few minutes walk from the city centre (shambles end). There is no on-site parking but the closest multistorey is just round the corner (Q-Park Shambles) - You pre-book online using their discount code to save 20%. The hotel itself is very lively, so if your looking for a really chilled stay, probs not for you! We stayed last night and they had a pub quiz on, loud music etc.. was good fun! You get a little welcome drink upon check in. Rooms are a good size, comfy bed, pillows were a bit too soft for me but that's just cos I'm used to sleeping with a slab pillow 😂!
