What a fabulous place. No matter what your level of experience when it comes to pottery, these guys can help you develop your skills. I hadn't worked with clay since school - 47 years ago but within a few lessons I was able to produce pots which I am using at home. Very relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Makes a big difference having such professional help. Would definitely recommend to give it a try.

I have been coming to Mud Station for at least 6 years now. The studio is open to everyone from beginners to more advanced home potters alike. The studio has a relaxed and welcoming vibe a real pottery community spirit. I have made many new friends over the years who all share the love of pottery!! Sylwia who owns the studio , is brilliant , she is self taught potter and her own creations can be seen and purchased in the studio created for use in some of Edinburgh’s fine restaurants!! We have had visiting potters visit in the past - crystalline glaze course , raku firings and we are all encouraged to explore our creative freedom ! Sylwia encourages to create what we want , within the parameters of the kiln size of course and making the odd glaze or two ourselves!

I cannot recommend Sylwia and Stephen enough, they are superstars. We booked a one-off wheel throwing class for 4 of us and it was absolutely amazing. Stephen is a fantastic teacher and fun to be around. We can't wait to see our finished pots and have all caught the pottery-bug. The perfect introduction to the world of wheel throwing.
