It's the most disgusting chinese 'restaurant' in London. Absolutely would not recommend to anyone. They have a lunch deal for £10 and it is a disgrace. The meat was not fresh and had a bad taste. The soy sauce seems to have been marinated for weeks. Very bad taste and awful experience! Should have been a zero rating.

Mr Meng serves authentic Chongqing dishes that are fulll of flavour and spice. As soon as you step in you can just smell the aromatic mala, smells just like a restaurant in China. I had the braised beef noodles and beef and tomato noodles they were both flavoursome and so tasty, a quick and comforting Chinese meal. Also ate the meat dumplings in spicy sauce and beef and ox tongue, both really yummy, just note they are cooked and prepared with the same flavours so order something else if you want a variety of flavours to eat. Expect a really casual, fast food setting. Everything was super modern and clean.

We ordered a pork with rice, tomato beef noodle soup, and a spicy beef noodle soup. The pork with rice was a disappointment. The flavor of the meat was quite dull and not very flavorful. On top of that, the meat was over-cooked leaving it somewhat dry. For the noodles, the experience was a bit better. The pieces of beef brisket were good bite sized pieces and were cooked just about right. The noodles had a good texture - not too soft nor too hard. Don't compare to the Italian "al dente" because Chinese noodles should not be "Italian al dente". Overall an ok experience. We visited in April 2023.
