I have been studying with Keith for almost 15 years and can honestly say that the quality of teaching is of the very highest standard. If you are a beginner and are looking for an introduction to genuine Yang Family Tai Chi I’d definitely recommend Mountain River. Conversely, if you already have a grounding in Tai Chi and are looking to progress to a better understanding Keith is passing on instructions from the very top and can rest assured that what you are getting is the genuine article.

I count myself very lucky to have come across Mountain River 18 years ago, one of the few schools in England that teaches Yeung family Tai Chi. New detail keeps coming from Hong Kong, taking our knowledge and understanding of this art to a new level.

Excellent Tai Chi and Chi Gung for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Two person work and sword forms covered. This is a big subject, it is not a quick and easy introduction. Both complex and rewarding. After 20 years, I’m beginning to understand it..

Warm and friendly class. 10 years in and still learning something new at every lesson. Exercise class that is a pleasure and not a chore.

Having spent time with a number of different Tai Chi instructors, and having now spent some 5 years (can't remember exactly how long) with Keith, my impression of Keith's teaching is that it is excellent. It is thorough and detailed and multi-layered.My feeling is that one can travel a long way with him. I know people who have stayed with him for maybe 20 years. He is clearly skilled himself which of course is reassuring. Of course like all 'true believers' he has his 'quirks' but that's all part of the fun/training ! As well as being high quality from a 'technical' viewpoint his classes are friendly and bonding in terms of group dynamics. Highly recommended.

If you want a basic intro into the form of Yang family tai chi, this will suffice. If you want a deeper understanding look elsewhere. Very little discipline amongst students, very little correction or explanation of form movement. Resulting in wasted time over years, teacher prefers to do the form with the students rather than teaching, so cannot observe the class fully, this results in students missing out in their teaching and instruction. And happily do their own thing, hence why I have given 3 stars.
