Are there any age or experience restrictions for using your rock climbing areas?
At Mountain Independence, we welcome climbers of all ages and skill levels. However, for safety reasons, we require all climbers under 18 years old to be accompanied by an adult. We also recommend that beginners take a class or hire a guide before attempting to climb on their own.Do you provide equipment, or do customers have to bring their own?

I did a Rock Skills Intermediate course with Mountain Independence and we covered the differences between indoor and outdoor climbing, how to second a trad route, personal abseiling along with a load of climbing and coaching chucked in too! Stu was an amazing instructor. Inspired confidence on the wall and made me feel safe whilst doing pretty challenging climbs including a day of multi-pitching! He had in depth knowledge of all the craggs and managed to do some climbs that are new to the log book! Thanks for an amazing week hopefully be back in another course soon!

Stu took us out for a day’s climbing and scrambling on the Idwal slabs. We had a fantastic time - Stu clearly has a wealth of experience and skill but also a laid back and friendly style. We felt v safe throughout even though trying multi-pitch climbing for the first time. We got a lot out of the day and hope we’ll have the chance in the future to go out climbing with Stu again.
