I have just had a Right Total Knee Replacement at Mount Stuart, a few years ago I had my left knee replaced at a different hospital and the whole experience was far superior this time. All staff, doctors and nurses are friendly and professional and although they are busy they always give you their full attention and a cheery word . My surgeon was very friendly and approachable and I am very pleased with my result so far. Also the food was lovely.

Went in for a day operation (through the NHS) last week and the staff were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Felt genuinely cared for by the nurses on duty, who were all attentive and always made sure I was comfortable and understood what was going on at all times throughout the day. The anaesthetist was also fantastic and put any I had nerves at ease and talked through everything, as did the doctor who came in to run through the surgery he was about to perform. A phone call the next day to check on me happened as they promised. So very grateful for the experience given what is going on in the health care world sadly at the moment.

Don't answer the phone or return answer phone messages tried again a few years later for a operation cost and waiting times by email this time and no reply yet again may as well stick with the NHS and save Β£1000s not what I would expect from private .

1 star for the worst and poorest service ever, you can not even get hold of anyone, no on via phone, and they never reply to emails, and if this reflects the treatment as well, I would stay well away from this place. Avoid this one!

Arrived at 5.30 for a 5.40 appointment with a consultant, Mr Budd, to discuss recent scan results: naturally a little anxious. Checked in with the somewhat uncaring receptionist who directed me to a seat and told me to wait. I waited. There was surprisingly little activity other than conversations about hoping to leave early, from the reception team, so at 6.30 I ventured to enquire how long I might have to wait. I was asked again what I was there for, only then to be told that the said Mr Budd had left some time earlier, and was not returning! I felt pretty stupid and just walked out. Would I trust such a shambolic organisation with my health? I don’t think so.

My husband is awaiting a date for surgery. He was told there was an 8 week waiting list when he spoke to the surgeon in February. We chased in June and were told it was most likely going to be a date in July. After waiting patiently and giving the benefit of doubt, we chased this at the beginning of August, when we were told the secretary was absent that day (Monday) and would be back the following day. Tuesday, nobody was answering the calls. Wednesday the calls went straight to voicemail. Considering have already paid for the consultation and will be paying for the surgery, the lack of communication and failure to respond to subsequent calls in a timely manner is disgusting. We do not want to start again, at the bottom of a waiting list at a different hospital. Save your stress, find a different private hospital.
