Stumbled across this place, tired and in need of coffee after a long hike and overnight camp. What a beautiful find, lovely, welcoming atmosphere, and dogs catered for with water bowls dotted around the outside seating and doggy treats available to buy inside the cafe. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The food is nice and coffee is good. The gardens made for a really nice stroll afterwards and a great place to relax in the sun, very peaceful. Parking: Plenty of room, free to use.

We visited as it was on route and we wanted somewhere to stop for and hour or so for a short walk and a drink. It is free to park and to enter. Much of the grounds are open to walk around as is the walled garden and the chapel - the abbey itself is private. After a very pleasant half hour wander we went into the cafe - the cakes looked very nice but we weren't hungry so just had a tea and coffee and then bought some honey (made at the abbey) and some cider (made at another abbey!) Definitely worth a visit if in the area.
