The most amazing riding stables ever!!! Very well kept horses with experienced teachers and helpers, lovely ponies in many shapes and sizes and a boss who runs it all like a clockwork and will get you riding the perfect horse for every stage of the journey as you improve. They care about the animals very much, horses clearly come as first priority, and it is easy to tell they are happy and trusting. We have been going for riding lessons weekly for several months now and plan to carry on for as long as they will have us!

Astonishingly disgraceful experience. Most of the staff here are nice. However, my daughter’s last lesson here ended with her in the hospital with an injured hip, after falling off a horse. Now I understand this is something that can happen but the treatment towards my daughter of that entire lesson caused her stress and the aftercare was nonexistent. From the get-go, the instructor (female owner of the farm) had a horrible and bitter attitude. My daughter has Tourette’s which can be triggered by stress and the farm are aware of this. The owner made several rude comments to my daughter such as “do you have a language problem” in front of the entire group (as she pulled the horse and my daughter on it aggressively to the middle). Once my daughter fell off the horse, the owner failed to provide any aftercare in such an incident. Instead she tried to rush her back onto the horse to finish the lesson. My daughter was shocked and speechless. We intervened and did not allow my daughter back on the horse as she was not ok and began crying. Pictured is the aftermath of my daughter in hospital with an injured hip. The owner, nor anyone at the farm, has contacted us since with an apology or even the slightest bit of concern for my daughter. It goes without saying that we won’t be returning and I would NOT recommend this place. The owner has no compassion or people-skills and should be kept away from students, especially children.

Everyone is absolutely lovely and always helpful. The goat ice milk is divine! The cheese is creamy and delicious! The jam is the absolute best tasting I've ever had, including my own homemade version. We are really enjoying our goat soap as well!

I have been learning to ride here for over a year and have enjoyed it. Starting out as a pretty nervous adult who had never ridden before, I have grown in confidence supported by a fabulous team. I love riding and coming to Monarch farm is the highlight of my week. Thanks particularly to Hazel who been an amazing teacher. You should also give their soap a try, it's the only soap that doesn't dry out my hands :)
