Justine provided an excellent service for our son’s funeral. She met with our 2 daughters to get to know us and them and things they might want to do to say goodbye to their brother, and she was fully open to whatever would make us happy, she then went away and wrote a fantastic service which opened up with celebrating our sons name and giving it to him like a naming ceremony which she then printed out and kindly gave to us afterwards to keep. Justine was amazing - we worked with her for our childrens joint naming ceremony. We weren’t quite sure what we wanted and left it all a little last minute to organise. We knew we wanted it to be as special as a christening but without the religious element. I stumbled across Justine’s profile a week before the ceremony and how lucky that I did. Upon meeting her I knew she would do a wonderful job and she didn’t disappoint. She had some great ideas and made the whole process incredibly easy and stress free. When my uncle approached me a year ago to help plan his impending funeral to take the load of that off his family, I was only too happy to put him in touch with my colleague, Justine Coombs. I knew she offered a service to meet clients before they died and help them create a funeral themselves that was exactly what they wanted. She met with him, shared her very comprehensive questionnaire that covered so many practical aspects, but, more than that, she shared her time and her ability to listen and laugh. It was another 8 months before the day came to say farewell to him, but his voice came through her words loud and clear and it was truly wonderful that she had actually met him. However, very sadly, before that day happened, my cousin died suddenly. Justine was the natural choice to be asked to conduct this very different funeral… and on a very different timescale. Justine held the space for us with care and love on both occasions. Her empathy for us as a family was so clear and I can’t fully express how grateful we were that she walked alongside us during this hugely difficult time.
