It’s called the model yachting pond but it’s not been used for this in a long time. It’s a good place for the birds but it suffers from an algae infection sometimes and has to be drained of water. Last time barriers were put up vandals had pushed them into the water. But in the summer months it is at its best and nice to wonder around.

Recently been repaired so at least it holds water now, although they appear to leave it empty through the winter, so it still looks quite dirty and full of rubbish. Apparently this used to be a water reservoir for Southampton, along with the old paddling pool and a now vanished one behind the Cowherds.
