Beautiful sculpture of a half man half bull creature made by Michael Ayrton. The sculpture has been in several locations. Rumour has it that the sculpture was previously removed because it was deemed sacrilegious or pagan by the church who presumably owned the land where it was previously located.

This sculpture is as the name suggests is of the Minotaur, the creature of Greek mythology. It's a great interpretation how how the legendary creature might have looked. A perfect composite of man and bull. It's a little ironic that the statue has been places here as a wry comment on getting into and out of the Barbican is akin to wandering through a maze.
