My son was tutored by Miguel. He wasn’t sitting 11+ but was moving schools and we wanted to check if there were any gaps in his knowledge and make sure he was confident in his capabilities. Also, the new school has regular assessments and we wanted to make sure he was well prepared. After a few one to one sessions we then moved to group sessions. It was great to get some additional support and advice on which areas were best to focus on. Miguel came recommended to us and I would definitely recommend him to others. He has a great approach to get the best out of the children, especially by practicing a few specific techniques and recommending useful resources too. Thank you!

I have had a few experiences with tutors over the years and Miguel is by far the best! My son enjoys his lessons and says the time goes by really quickly. Miguel has very quickly identified my sons strengths and areas for improvement and has given my son practical tips to improve his test performance. My son Joseph really enjoyed his lessons with Miguel (through Y4 & Y5). He made very good progress with maths word problems and improving his study skills during this time. We found both the 1:1 classroom lessons and the group Zoom sessions fruitful. Miguel and Joseph became great friends too! Miguel did an excellent job with our daughter. Did an initial assessment 12 months before the Kent Test. Then worked through strategies, examples and techniques. Miguel identified and worked on some basic missing skills that were essential for harder later work. This was crucial. As the test neared Miguel advised on just the right amount of daily work needed and avoided the temptation to do too much. In the end our daughter passed with a great score. This was all in a 12m period and she never met Miguel as it was all done over Zoom due to Covid. Miguel made the learning and strategies engaging and all without any stress. Couldn’t recommend Miguel highly enough!

Miguel has been an extremely great help for my daughters! My oldest achieved a high mark on the exams last ear and then my second one is now with him again as they both find him very fun and helpful when explaining. As parents we love how he teach them strategies to speed up on their responses, we have loads of feed back and advise on how we could make home practise more interesting for them. My daughter found the techniques that Miguel taught her when first starting 11+ tutoring very useful and I believe this lead to her positive attitude to regular practice. She gained a good understanding and Miguel’s patient nature ensured that any areas she was unsure of were addressed. As she progressed and got closer to the 11+ exam she continued to be motivated and we both feel the group lessons helped spur her on to maintain the practicing. Miguel regularly suggested new resources which helped keep the interest too. We were delighted with her overall score, particularly because she achieved full marks in maths, and one mark off full marks in reasoning. She received an offer from her first choice - Tonbridge Girls Grammar School.
