If you want to pass asap and are taking your lessons and driving serious I would definitely not recommend Minar and his services. He has poor communication skills and is not a man of his words. I spoke to him on the phone and was so shocked at how soon he could book me in (the next morning) and he dealt with cash in hand but I had to find out it was too good to be true. He had a problem with his vehicle this morning and rather than informing he switched his phone off and didn’t get back to me. I called him at 5pm later that day and he explained to me the situation which was reasonable for a cancellation but it was no reason to not communicate with me. Anyways we rescheduled for 2days later for a 2hour session at 11am and I called him 5 mins before the agreed time and the phone rung but no answer. I called him 42 throughout as my friend who had been doing lessons with him insisted this as spamming his phone will be the only way he would answer as he witnessed this in the flesh. Still no answer. Wouldn’t recommend and I would have been at the very least satisfied if he had given me a heads up and communicated. Not good for business yet I cannot comment on his teaching.

Highly Unprofessional!!! Avoid at all costs. Always late for training lessons by 30 mins or longer. Was late even on the day of my driving test and had double booked me with someone else, which caused me a significant amount of issues and additional costs. Took me down a closed road with construction in spite of signs. Got yelled at by construction workers, as a result. All on the exam day minutes before the test. Unnecessarily stressful. Unforgivable! Cancelled a few times. During each session, takes breaks or goes to pick up other learners, which cuts into the actual driving time for the session. Usually you get 1.5 hours driving time during a 2 hour lesson. But still charges for 2 hours. If you bring this up with him, his response is “Life is not perfect”. Coaching was unclear and contradictory, which led to an unfavorable outcome, even though I’ve driven for 20 years before. Confusing instructions, which makes drivers tense during sessions. Would absolutely not recommend!

Although Minar is a lovely man and very polite. His professionalism, communication and lack of understanding is poor. I booked lessons Aug 2021 with the intent of passing end the year or sooner which was pre discussed and agreed it was possible. From August 2021 and the end of 2021 I had received ONE lesson with Minar because there were multiple cancellations with multiple excuses - to list a few - He had a punctured tire that morning - He was too far to collect me - put in the wrong address in GPS so wouldn't make it on time to the lesson with me - He accidently booked me a week ahead and now can't make the lesson for the day we had agreed. Although it happened on a week to week basis I decided to continue with him the year after due to the convenience of having Sunday lessons and had "a plan". Our first lesson back again in 2022 we are meant to have a 2 hour lesson, I wait for him and he is late. I try calling multiple times, to none he answered, instead I get a call from a woman named Zara who said she was running late and will come and collect me for my lesson with Minar. None of this was discussed prior, nor did I even know he had other people working with him, nor did he ever previously explain that something like this could potentionally happen. Zara who works with Minar, admitted to me she had no idea of the lesson either. I had the lesson with Zara and it was good, discussed with her to have her for future lessons which was happy to go forward with. Next thing I get a call from Minar saying lessons are with him and no explanation as to why that even happened. He also said due to so many cancellations he offered me a 2 hour lesson for the price of one but when I had brought it up, he did not remember the conversation that was had. Which was strange. After deciding to part ways he had the nerve to say I didn't part on good terms with him and cut me off from speaking and said he hopes I find a good instructor. I definitely say find a driving instructor who will be consistent especially if you're serious about passing and a instructor who will communicate all changes with you. Not a great experience and hope this can improve for any future learning drivers.

Update: I called following their reply here. In short, the gentleman on the phone tried to downplay or dismiss the points in my criticism and when he couldn’t he expected me to be patient and lenient because Mr. Minar is old. Far from sympathetic to my bad experience. I texted him my bank details to transfer the refund as he requested but haven’t received anything. It’s been 3 weeks. I even send a reminder last week. Very disappointing customer service. ———— Original: I had my first lesson today. I’m not going back. Here’s why: - Mr Mohammed minar called to say his gps isn’t working and cannot locate my address. I had to go find him at a ten minute walk nearby shop. - he had a learner in the car (shouldn’t happen in the lockdown) - he dropped her and later counted the half hour drop off as part of my lesson. - he was not wearing a mask throughout - no sat nav in the car and no air con. It was 26 degrees hot - car made squeaky noise and when I brought it up he laughed it off saying the car is worth only scrap. I didn’t feel safe - he used his mobile phone several times to text while I was driving. Dangerous and unprofessional - I’m not going to comment on his teaching coz it was one lesson but I didn’t feel comfortable with his teaching nor safe in his car - the day before I sent a confirmation. He didn’t remember me and requested to reschedule to a different time on the same day. During the lesson a student called who he forgot he had a lesson with and apologised like he did with me and asked to call him later - he only wanted cash at the end of lesson I had hopes to do my lessons with minar school but a big disappointment especially that my test is in five weeks and now have to find a new instructor.

Just got dangerously overtaken by this ‘so called’ driving instructor at a T-Junction, believe it or not! I followed him up to a set of traffic lights and stopped next to him. I told him he shouldn’t be allowed to teach if that’s his style of driving. He gave no apology and simply replied with a sarcastic “yeah, you can do better”. Avoid!!
