When viewed in person it's circularity is breathtaking. A staple of my weekends in London, placed at the intersection of the footpaths that cross the heath, it lays calm majestic and round. Areas of special and historical interest embossed around its circumference. Standing in the center at dawn on summer solstice the sun will rise directly east. Best approached from the northern footpath.
