Where do i start. I arrived in poole in August 2022 knowing absolutely nothing about barbering. I didn't know how to hold a pair of scissors or cut hair. 12 weeks later I was ready to work in a barber shop. The learning atmosphere in poole is fantastic , welcoming and supportive. The lecturer's have years and years of experience and genuinely care that you are ready to tackle the barbering world and are shop ready by the end of the course. Taking such a dramatic right turn in life at 42 and totally retraining was a massive leap for me but it's turned out to be the best decision I've ever made. Attending the mike taylor education barber course has literally changed the direction of my life. I can't recommend this place enough.

I have just completed and achieved a distinction in my Hairdressing apprenticeship. When my employer encouraged and supported me to start the course I doubted to whether it was achievable due to low confidence, having to resit my maths and being a mature student. However Mike Taylor Hairdressing Academy provided a fantastic learning environment with fantastic tutors. I would like to thank you all for joining me on my hairdressing journey Roxi, Callum and the incredible Steph. Individually they all contributed to my learning encouraged and supported me always, I have had the pleasure of wonderful clients, and the support from the other learners kept me motivated and built my self confidence. Emily, Mike and the team all make for a fab experience. I will be forever thankful for my Hairdressing apprenticeship. Just completed my GBBA level 2 Barbering course at Mike Taylor Education in Poole. Over the last 12 weeks I have found the staff amazing I feel I have gained a lot of new skills and techniques in barbering and this has allowed me to gain a job in a local barbers to me, I couldn’t be more happy with new career choice and I recommend this course to anyone that wants to learn the best way to barbering.

I just completed my hairdressing level 2 apprenticeship with Mike Taylor Education. I started in May 2021 with a career background in Barbering. Throughout my course, my teacher, Steph, has been nothing but informative, supportive and taught me all the necessary knowledge and skills to pass with flying colours. A couple of weeks ago I did my EPA (end point assessment) which is a 6 hour practical exam involving 2 colour services, a restyle haircut, blowdry and hair up (wedding style hair). I received my grade 2 days later and was over the moon to receive a distinction!! Thank you so much to Steph, Mike and Emily for their encouragement and support, and for their expert training

Recently underwent the GBBA barbering course with MTE and it was the best decision of my life. It was the 12 week course and it has now changed my life for the better. They helped me get a job in a barbershop straight away after finishing the course which was amazing. The environment of the academy was always amazing and all the tutors are incredible. They just want you to be the best barber you can be. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to become a barber. Everyday you learn but most importantly have fun while doing it. I am now the happiest I have ever been in a job and that is all thanks to MTE!
