I have visited Spuds and berries many times and always rated it 5 stars. I have also recommended it to many people. However, today after having lunch there, I feel I can only rate it 3 stars. The meal in general was good, but unfortunately the broccoli was very undercooked and very hard. I asked the manager if he could put it in the microwave for a few minutes . He said he would bring my friend and I fresh broccoli. When this was brought to our table, it was only very slightly less hard and was in fact inedible so we left it . Manager asked how it was as we neared the end of the meal. I informed him we had unfortunately had to leave it as it was so tough. I was then told that they don't like to boil their vegetables too much! The bill was almost £35 and we both felt that as a gesture of good will, that a little should have been deducted from the bill. Or maybe a free drink should have been offered instead of being told that they don't like to boil their vegetables too much, as though we were at fault. Very disappointed by all this and will think twice now about recommending this place to others.
