It's good that children are getting help and understanding. I had a stammer from age 3/4 yrs. I put mine down to being unloved and bullied in my family, I was constantly fearful and afraid, I got no help. I was a very sensitive child and my family seen this as a weakness. I found school difficult and I hated when teachers asked me to read out loud as I could not get the words out and I was bullied at school as well because of it. Somehow, from age 13, it slowly got better and I don't stammer now, but it has left me with low self esteem and I am extremely independent due to past put downs, I lack trust in others.
