My son Alex has been at Hale Karate Club for over a year now. He loves the training, focus and discipline of Karate. Alex, Kay and Martin and all at the club are dedicated, caring instructors. The club has worked hard to adapt to COVID 19 restrictions to continue with positive training sessions at this difficult time. Alex says he has grown in confidence and his fitness has improved since joining the club.

Both of my boys started at around 5 year old, one since 2015 and another one since 2018. Karate is excellent for both physical and mental development, you do notice the massive benefits, especially over the long run. They both have much better stamina and strength, which also boosts other sports they take on. Club itself always has very good atmosphere, with enthusiastic senseis, who are strict but also caring enough for the young ones. Training times are flexible as well, you have 3 days to choose from the week. Highly recommend introducing Karate to kids, whether they are sporty or not

Both of my kids are going to Hale Karate club since last 3 years. I am very happy with the club. Especially during COVID times, this is/was the only physical activity for them, which helped them a lot in overall physical/mental well being. Through my nearly 8 years training at the club I have seen it grow from a small to a thriving and dynamic club; however to me it still has the same welcoming feeling. Hale is a special community and I feel the wide range of belts and ages at the club adds to this. Through teaching I have become more involved with the younger students and this interconnectedness allows everyone to feel important and valued within the club. Karate has taught me the importance of hard work and just how much I can achieve when I put my mind to it, I think this is an invaluable lesson and one that anyone, young or old, should learn.

Having passed my 1st dan in 2012, and following a break of several years, I decided to get back into regular training. I joined Hale Karate Club about 2 years ago and without any doubt this has been the best decision I could have made. From the start the quality of instruction I've received from Alex Cockx has been truly exceptional! Alex is an extremely talented instructor, having represented his country at international karate competitions in both kata and kumite, so definitely knows what he's talking about. But more than that Alex has a natural ability to make learning karate interesting and fun whether you're learning as an adult or a child. I've can honestly say I've learnt so much over the last 2 years and am so pleased to have found this club. If anyone has ever thought about trying karate for the first time, or coming back to karate after an extended break, then I cannot recommend Hale Karate highly enough.
