Having been part of ‘mibootcamp’ for many years I never thought it would be with me. I shared all of those common fears- it would be to high intensity, i needed to get fitter before i started, it would involve to much running or i would embarrass myself if i couldn’t keep up with the all other ultra fit members… the first thing i realised was not everyone was ultra fit, in matching lycra and were not bother about me sweating so profusely. The members ranged from couples, singles, the very young and some much older, all involved for the same shared interests but of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Soon those other members became friends and rather than the fear of them laughing at me I found them cheering and shouting words of encouragement and motivation. This atmosphere was so so infectious and all created by Russell Byham the owner (the leader) and all the personalities that where drawn to the concept and vision of his. I was soon telling everyone and along the way over the years i have introduced lots of friends and colleagues. Over this time the sessions and the setting have evolved with the needs and wants of the members- from the field with all the tyres, to the obstacles, to now the purpose build facility with more functional exercise equipment that a gym. ‘mibootcamp’ sessions and times suit all with traditional bootcamp sessions, circuits, boxing, kettle bells, HIIT and… with the new ‘Lean Plan’ you see people embracing the use of free weights and barbells with a targeted focus on technique with new technologies tracking body statistics, achievements, progression, body measurements and nutrition, all aiding some amazing achievements in people. Now with more trainers onboard the sessions and the attention to detail has raised to another level, with so much support, motivation and interaction. It is truly somewhere you want to be every night of the week as you are the only one who can influence that change. Sometimes when life gets out of your control ‘mibootcamp’ really helps you to channel whatever is going on and gives you that sense of focus and control you need, above the results you see physically more importantly how that makes you feel inside and emotionally. I highly recommend.

Did a 6 week course with Russell starting in January. Getting to class at 6:30am on a dark, cold morning was not something I looked forward to. But, when I got there, I really surprised myself: the class was very welcoming; the camaraderie and support spurred me on; being out in the fresh air was so much nicer than being in an inside gym; I lost weight and felt stronger. Would I recommend it? Well, I have signed up for another 12 weeks so that’s a YES from me.

I first joined this bootcamp 9 years ago to try to shift my "mummy weight". At a size 18/20 I was the biggest I'd ever been! I had tried a few different ones in the area but didn't get on with them, buy persevered with bootcamps as I didnt want to work out indoors. Both the instructors and members were incredibly supportive and 2 years on I had hit my goal of a perfect size 12. Sadly life got busy and I let bootcamp no.longer be a priority, fast forward to lockdown and I had yet again gained weight so back I went, and was thrilled to find the same supportive and friendly atmosphere, and 6 months in have already seen great results and back to feeling great again! Ive recommend these guys to many over the year's and will continue to do so !
