The Metropolitan Tabernacle is a Reformed Independent Baptist church in London that has been standing for reverent worship, expository preaching, gospel preaching, and the working church principle for over 350 years. The church was founded in 1650 by William Rider, and it has been led by a succession of notable pastors, including Benjamin Keach, John Gill, John Rippon, and Charles Haddon Spurgeon. The Metropolitan Tabernacle is known for its reverent worship services. The congregation sings traditional hymns and anthems, and the atmosphere is one of solemnity and reverence. The preaching at the Metropolitan Tabernacle is expository, which means that the pastor takes a passage of Scripture and carefully explains its meaning. The sermons are always gospel-centered, and they are designed to lead people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Metropolitan Tabernacle is also known for its working church principle. The church believes that Christians should be involved in the work of the kingdom of God, and it encourages its members to get involved in evangelism, missions, and other forms of Christian service. I have been a member of the Metropolitan Tabernacle for many years, and I have been blessed by my time there. The church has been a great source of spiritual growth and encouragement for me. I highly recommend the Metropolitan Tabernacle to anyone who is looking for a church that is committed to reverent worship, expository preaching, gospel preaching, and the working church principle.

The Minister is very sincere and an able speaker. The congregation could be more welcoming. Not charismatic in style, which is a good thing. It's reformed in worship, conservative in outlook and Calvinistic in theology. If that's what you're seeking, this is the place to go.
