I’ve been training at MJA the last couple of months to develop grappling experience , and seen judo as the perfect fit for that , with a combination of stand up and ground fighting. Jay Thompson is an excellent sensei with a vast experience in judo amongst other martial arts. Sessions are at 6 am mon/wednesday/Friday, and consist of fitness , throws/joint locks, ground fighting and randori(sparring) As well as the traditional gi grips ,each technique has a no gi and self defence application. I was made to feel welcome from day one with other like minded individuals who encourage and help you progress every session. I would suggest anyone to come down a try a lesson out as you won’t be disappointed

Been training here for 3-4 months doing the morning sessions, perfect for me as I can get some judo training in before school run and work, great bunch and very knowledgeable. Gym/dojo has great facilities, everyone genuinely wants to see you improve, such a positive atmosphere.
