Any queries we’ve had, the aftercare team have always been quick to respond. Me and my brother have made the terrible mistake to purchase a property from Mersea Homes (at Horkesley Hamlet). All the chick and glam in the middle of rural Essex (as advertised by the builder) has turned out to be a terribly built house where the basic building standards have not been respected. 1.The windows are leaking during the rain. 2. The window handles were falling off. 3. The patio tiles were moving. 4. During and after the rain I had my own pond in the court. 5. The plastering quality is awful (see photos). 6. The paint is falling off the external door frames. 7. The air vents are letting the air in and some of them were not even fixed, and the list goes on. Some of the issues are still not addressed 7 months after the completion which is a shame considering the exorbitant price. Service: Home building

I moved into my Mersea Homes house just over 3 months ago and couldn't be happier! The house is beautiful and finished to a high standard. The house buying process was so smooth and Angela and Amanda in the sales office were amazing! So friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I have bought a home with Mersea Homes in Chesterwell, Colchester. Mersea Homes are the best builders. People in the Sales Office are very very kind, helpful and patient in answering queries and addressing multiple follow-ups. I love living here! There’s loads of parks and greenery which makes it more visually pleasing. We’ve had no structural damages so it's been built with good quality. Flat was very clean when handed over.I feel comfortable and love living here. The flat is modern, bright and spacious, I get light coming in all day. The kitchen is the best part of the flat. The housing management is very quick in taking care of issues which is great. Our neighbours are friendly and easy to live around. I wanted to highlight one thing here, Mersea Homes has given the occupation of the house 2 months before the promised date so that I can avoid expiry of the mortgage offer which would have put me into a situation where I would have ended up paying 300£/month extra installment. Mersea Homes are simply superb.

I recently bought an apartment in Chesterwell House, and as a new buyer was a bit worried about the process and how it would turn out. Mersea Homes were fantastic though, and Amanda and Angela are a credit to the business. Both were brilliant whenever I visited with my parents and always took out time to make sure I was happy with my decisions and any answers I received to any questions I had. It's been 4 years since we moved into our Mersea Home on the Chesterwell development. The build quality was to an exceptionally high standard. Everyone who has visited our home has commented on this. From start to finish, the buying process had been smooth and we were kept regularly informed of the progress at every stage. But what prompted me to write this review was the aftercare we received. Normally you hear horror stories from people who have bought new builds. That is never a problem with Mersea Homes. I must make a special mention of Sharon and Andy for going to great lengths to fix issues if any were to arise. It is this aspect that is very ressuring, after all buiying a house is the biggest expenditure one makes in their lives and you definitely expect good quality and value for that money which I must say Mersea Homes has delivered.
