If you're looking to try watersports or have some fun on an inflatable water obstacles course, then this place is a must. Really friendly staff with a lovely cafe on site, free parking, and hire of wetsuits and boyancy aids. Really great prices with different options to choose from, including taking your own equipment along for a small fee. Our kids love spending time here, highly recommend.

I have been paddle boarding on & off for a few years, this year I went down to mersea lake as the tides were not great & wanted the safety of being able to paddle on my own. I am so glad I did & found Mersea Boating Lake. Rebecca & the team are really caring, knowledgeable & helpful. There are lots of different activities for everyone to do & I even managed to start my open water swimming journey. Its really refreshing seeing young people, outside working & teaching people skills. The little cafe is great, after an hour or so on the water nothing better than to grab a hot drink & snack. Just 3days on the lake this weekend has already improved my skills & confidence massively. The only down side is I now have to wait a few weeks before I can return. Thank you again, cant wait to see you soon.

I feel saddened to have to give this review after such positive experiences previously. However, during the wc 22 august I attended with my children, a friend and her children. The children went to get changed in the outside changing rooms, built by the lake team. My friend’s teenage son, whilst trying to put on his wetsuit, slipped in a concealed (by the Astro put down by the lake team) hole and he dislocated his knee. The follow up medical treatment was to start with rest, then medical intervention in the form of brace, then further X-rays where it was discovered that he’d chipped his bone when he dislocated it. An mri was needed to assess the extent of the chip damage. After the incident I had to prompt the manager to get the accident book filled in. After a discussion with her over a refund she asked me to email as this couldn’t be done through the tills on site. Several chasing emails have been sent after the one with bank details and nearly three months later and there has still be no refund. My friends son is still not fully recovered from the dislocation and is unable to fully participate in activities like he would have done before the accident. All that was asked for was a refund for his session because it was the boating team’s fault that he couldn’t participate. After the incident the concealed hole was coned off.

Great activity for a family didn't put down 5 star as parking disgusting. £2.30 for 1 hour. Activity last 1 hour so parking £3.20 to park in a field. Also as you turn into venue there is a camera.

Hire or bring your own paddle board. Great place to get your confidence before going anywhere else. Check website for prices. Cafe toilets changing. Great staff 👍
