It is difficult to do this wonderful riding school justice in a few sentences. The team work tirelessly and are truly dedicated to sharing their passion for horses. I felt welcome from the minute I arrived at Merriewood, as did my beginner son. The horses are beautifully schooled and are cared for to the highest standard. The teaching is superb – the talented instructors share a wealth of experience and have a natural ability to get the best out of their riders at all levels. Whether you are an experienced rider or a complete beginner, I cannot recommend Merriewood highly enough!

Having been to a few riding schools over the years, I can honestly say that Merriewood is the most welcoming and inclusive yard I've ever been at! Amanda and Alice are the loveliest of people, and the care they provide to the horses is second to none. There is a mix of delightful horses and ponies suitable for a wide range of riders, and each lesson is tailored to the rider's individual needs. There are also many opportunities to spend time with the horses and learn all about how to care for them. This is a wonderful family run business, coming to the yard is always the highlight of my week.
