Following analytics Alice advised me that everything pointed to a new steering column electrical unit. £984. But the intermittent starting issue remains. Am sure acted in good faith. This has now been followed up by Mercedes dealership subsequently and a free further investigation offered . Have revised from 2 stars to 4 stars

Though the service was carried out ok I was extremely disappointed with Mercedes warranty department and explanation given to service department. Seat rips have appeared. Mercedes accepting no responsibility saying it’s ‘due to the cars age and mileage’. And that is the only sentence the warranty dept said to service department apparently. Nothing more. Very poor, Mercedes. Should a quality (?) seat experience ripping with less than average use on a car which is less than 5 years old and below average mileage? Surely the Artico material here is unfit for purpose?? Looking at some forums it appears I’m not the only one dissatisfied with this. Mercedes offered to fix the seat while my car was in with Exeter dealership … for a mere £900. Thanks! Shame on Mercedes not owning up to poor quality of finish. This is my first and will certainly be my last Mercedes. Never experienced this sub standard level of service from BMW or Audi. They seemed only keen to build on a reputation. When I asked for the phone number to make a complaint I was given the wrong number twice. Told to find email address online. Found it. I have emailed Mercedes customer service a week ago but so far no acknowledgment of my complaint. A reply would be good at this point. Poor. Poor. Poor. 0/10.
