Not quite lived up to its reputation but a pleasant experience. The staff is nice and even for a mid week early eve the restaurant was nearly full (restaurant week). The food was good quality. Pre-starters (poppadoms & chutneys) were tasty as were starters (paneer and aloo bahaji, reshmi kebab) but the portions of the latter were tiny. They came together with the mains which is not my preference. The mains (zaika gosht and lamb rogan fosh) were run of the mill, however, the lamb in zaika gosht was slightly dry. I was full and pleased after the meal but I was expecting more from "Indian fine dining". There are better Indian restaurants in Nottingham for slightly lower prices.

Surprisingly swift service, not hurried just efficient. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was very good quality, piping hot and the portions were generous. We went early evening on a Friday, around 6pm and there were already 5 or 6 other parties. It's a fairly large dining room with plenty of tables and despite the fairly low number of guests still had a good atmosphere. I would say that it's similar to two or three other restaurants in this row but I was most impressed by the snappy service.

Have been several time to Memsaab and will keep going back. Food is excellent everytime. Service is great and cost is reasonable. If you want great food here is where you need to go.
