My little boy, who’s not quite 5, went to a Mega Camp day for the first time this week. We were worried he wouldn’t want to stay as he wouldn’t know anyone … but literally from the first person we saw we knew he’d love it there and would be so well looked after. He was instantly relaxed and happy and not bothered about me leaving! He was only supposed to do one day but loved it so much he begged to go back the next day. He was literally buzzing after both days and full of confidence with the things he’d tried and fun he had. The staff were so friendly and reassuring, you could tell they love working with children. We can’t wait for the next school holidays so he can enjoy even more fun. Thank you Mega Camp!!

This is my first bad review - ever! I tried to make contact and deal with this matter and I have not heard anything back. Treating local families like this is truly unacceptable, particularly in this current climate. I booked my daughter on to the Hornchurch site during the summer. On day one there was an issue where my daughter took in her mobile phone (yes we understand this should not have happened and the safeguarding issue). She had mislaid her swimming costume so text me from the toilet. I bought a costume along apologising that my daughter had left it at home and she had messaged me. The member of staff went into the squash court and blew her whistle across the hall and humiliated my daughter in front of the entire room regarding use of the phone. She came out in floods of tears and I couldn’t calm her down. I took her outside and the manger then referred to a third party and apologised that the third party (another member of staff should not have blown the whistle). My daughter begged me to take her home and told me the lady apologising was the one who blew the whistle at her. The member of staff on site lied - not only to me but in front on my 10 year old daughter. My daughter was completely traumatised. I later found out this member of team was in fact Site Manager. I was offered a refund for the session and an apology and cancelled the complete summer. Working full time and having to find last minute alternative childcare was my only option. I was not confident sending my daughter back when the almost senior person on site had lied to a 10 year old. I have emailed the head office 5 times and not received an email back. I appreciate that during the summer they may have been busy dealing with the programme, but this has been ongoing for five months. I receive plenty of marketing emails offering other camps to book on. I certainly would not book again and my daughter is still in shock to this day that a teacher would lie in front on her. Completely unprofessional. Update Thankfully. The day after posting this review, I have received an email offering me a full refund.

My children have been to a few different camps but have found this one to be their favourite so far! So much so they sulked the whole way home on their last day 🙈 They take kids as young as 4 which is great for me and hard to come by as well as being Ofsted registered. They had great activities for all and the staff seemed great! I don't drive so we had to cycle 3.5 miles from westcliff to the Southend camp and the kids never complained which just goes to show how much they loved it there!! I'm really happy and can see this being our camp of choice from now on! We are hoping it will be open over the Christmas holidays 🤞🤞🤞 Thank you mega camps Southend! Saving working parents over the holidays ☺️

Pre-pandemic used to be a great place but the last few years the staff in Dartford is disorganised, not very helpful and miserable. Inexperienced, don’t really know how to deal with kids. Don’t have patience and the passion. We will try one more time in October and see how it goes. Staff at the office always very polite and helpful.
