The vets were very good....its a shame the out of hours is such a long way to go, in fact it's in another county! They were also very expensive ....but they would be, they have a majority....because 5 out of 6 local vets belong to Medivet!

PLEASE READ We took our 5-month-old Husky puppy (Storm) to the vet on Friday at Roston Drive. The vet seemed very casual he said it was nothing to worry about and prescribed her some medicine as he thought it was a stomach bug (unclear on a diagnosis.) He ruled out an obstruction. If a SNAP test/The SNAP Canine Parvovirus Antigen Test Kit/further tests had been done, she might have been alive. This was the first failure of your service. We monitored her and she declined further 48 hours later. We took her to the out-of-hours vet in Birstall. Again, the casual vet seemed unconcerned by her health, despite clear signs of lethargicness and loss of appetite. She was given medicine to treat and we were told to bring her back within 24 hours if she did not improve. We did not have 24 hours. Why was my 5-month puppy dead at the foot of my bed with a supposedly unconcerning disease? Clearly, it was a deadly disease which robbed her of her life. This was the second fatal failure of your services. When I found her unconscious I rang the Birstall vet, I told her my puppy was unconscious not breathing, to which she replied unempathetically, 'Your out-of-hours vet is in Leamington Spa.' I put down the phone and tried to contact the Leamington Spa branch, but I was unable to get through. I rang the Birstall branch again, panicked, I repeated that my puppy was unconscious, not breathing and blood was coming from her mouth. I knew she was dead at this point, but I stupidly trusted the vets' (mind you, multiple in this case) opinion when they said she would be ok. I thought there was a chance she would be ok. The lady on the phone put me on hold and after returning asked me how she was breathing. Obviously, she hadn't listened to what I had said earlier. The vet misgendered her (Did he even look at her? I'm not a vet but I can tell the difference between a female and male dog within a minute) and could not give me an answer as to why she is dead. It could be this it could be that. What was it? I have 2 other dogs in my home I need to prevent this from ever happening again. Safe to say your rubbish service cost an innocent puppy her life, distress in our home and 2 dogs without their best friend. I need answers. I paid almost £400 for you to tell me she was ok- which is clearly not the case. A quick Google search indicates it could've been parvovirus. I'm sure you're aware (maybe not if you follow the pattern above) that this is treatable and could've saved her life if, on Friday, the vet was trained to spot signs of this horrible disease.
