Things seem to have gone downhill recently. We used the branch in Burbage for many years, which has still not reopened, so started to use the Station View Road branch. Whilst the Nurses and Reception staff have always been friendly, there appears to be a problem recruiting and retaining Vets, which means it's impossible to book routine operations, as the limited Vets they have, are dealing always with emergency issues. Obviously, I accept that emergency issues have to be dealt with, but the lack of Vets, means that they are unable to book any routine appointments for speying etc. If you have a pet registered with a Vet, you need them to be able to offer all services, when required. I believe the Practice is soon to close for a refurbishment which is definitely required. Hopefully the refurbished premises will attract and retain more Vets for the future. Time will tell.

It wasn't an emergency it was a routine operation, but it took a while to get an appointment for my dogs operation. The vet and receptionist were very friendly and explained everything clearly. Jack was very well looked after and post surgery information was helpful. There was a delay booking Jack in for his operation but that was due to a vet phoning in sick on the day. I was told that I would get a phone call on the day just to let me know how Jack's operation had gone, but no one phoned. In the end I phoned and was told what time to pick Jack up.

Costs are main drive for the practise now unfortunately - Since taken over by Medivet group , its lost its way. Vet advice on medication changed twice - told cant keep a medicine for 3 mths but then told yes I can - charged for items not used after surgery and really not worth my time to keep trying to ring for appts

Reception.staff very nice and obviously experienced and genuinely caring, however can't say the same about the vet who examined my dog. His attitude was abrupt and undermining. It was not the most pleasant experience. The vets we have seen at the Burbage Practice ( now closed) were amazing. So warm and empathetic. Not so today. It felt like we were being a nuisance and taking up vetinary time. It's made me question.change of Practice.
