Appalling. Every single time we have been here it seems as though they are trying to upsell. Our pet was limping so we took him to be examined for this specific issue - ended up recommending full chest X-ray, keeping on a drip and monitoring overnight. In fact, when we took him to the animal hospital the following day, there were so many things on the list that they couldn’t figure out why he was initially referred. On another occasion, he had inhaled a foreign object and had been sneezing, they couldn’t find the foreign object and suggested it might be various other life threatening conditions including cancer. We found said foreign object at home a couple of days later without any specialist equipment. He was fine - it was a 6’’ long piece of grass. Every single time it has been over-dramatic suggestions that have been completely unnecessary and furthermore cause the pet and us more distress and upheaval than if they’d have just checked the immediate problem and potential related causes properly. It seems very much like - throw everything at this issue and hope something sticks. When we asked if this was all really necessary and we would like for the immediate problem to be addressed we were told - if you are financially unable then you should take him to an animal charity. No, we will just take him to another vet, thanks.
