Mixed bag really. Enthusiasm & help when looking at home Autumn 21' with friendly Snr staff showing us around etc. Many visits were curtailed due to covid outbreaks, but on occasions of visits staff were pleasant, & appeared caring. As time went on & mothers Alzheimer's condition worsened I was disappointed with cleanliness of bathroom especially considering visits were by appointment. Final days & when mother passed away early April 22', really shocked by lack of compassion & contact. Paramedic intervention prompted by family member during visit as mother was so poorly. Sadly died less than 48hrs later. When picking up belongings 2 days later, not a word of condolence from two staff members who met me (aware of reason for final visit) & again bathroom & toilet soiled. I requested a call back from a manager to provide exit feedback but this has not happened. I did however receive a call from finance Dept asking why direct debit payment stopped (despite me notifying them of mums passing & potential for D/D issue. I am sure all Care homes & staff have had a horrendous 2 years & when under such pressure mistakes happen. However, sadly this experience has left me feeling all the effort was put in getting a resident to chose the home & dropped like a stone when the funding stream ends.
