  Usually I don’t leave any feedback, but after they damaged my hat🧢 and asked still to pay for that, I am very disappointed and heartbroken as it was only one hat which suits me. They even didn’t feel sorry they were just keep saying they have washed and it’s not their fault that the hat shrink and lose the shape and yes the hat they give back was dirtier than I give them to clean. I don’t recommend this place at all, as while they can clean only sweaty staff they won’t be able to clean anything with stains. I understand could happen anything, but the attitude I received after and paid for damaged item, it is unacceptable!

  JEEVES WHO?? As someone who uses MAYFAIR COBBLERS AND DRY CLEANING (MC&DC) quite often I have become very used to the quality work they do, especially for the price. It wasn't until I had a Burberry scarf to clean with a really bad stain that I realised how fortunate I am to have Hussein and his family there running this business (MC&DC). He did for me a job that JEEVES could not. Here is the backstory. You see I asked around about places that could do restoration of brand name clothing and accessories and hand bags. Because the items had sentimental value and needed advanced work to restore them I thought it might be out of MC&DC wheelhouse. Someone told me that Jeeves charges a substantial amount but that they get the job done for serious clothing issues like staining and restoration. So I took it to them. They wanted to charge me more than what the handbag was worth to restore it... So that item was out. The scarf they said they weren't sure if they could get the stain out to whit I said "if the cleaner says they can't do it then don't do it. I don't want to pay for a job that can't be done". A month later when I came back to collect I picked up my items...The hat I brought was cleaner but still had minor stains. The sweatshirt was ok but the sewing job was nothing special and it had some stains. The scarf was clean except the stains that I wanted removed which looked almost the same as before the cleaning. I told the attendant at Jeeves I would pay for the items but not the scarf and she objected saying she could not know if the stain would come out until the stain was cleaned and that I assumed the liability. I told her that's inadequate. My days in construction if I would have someone ask me if I could build a house, I would not say, "I won't know until I build it" and expect to get the job. If I got the job and was only able to build a garage and not a house I could not then expect to be paid for the house. No job works this way. Either the cleaner knows the stain will come out or it will not. They have been doing the job long enough to know. If it won't then they were advised to not try because I would not pay for "trying" just like a home owner would not pay me for "trying" too build a house. When I left JEEVES I was upset. The attendant became rude and aggressive and did give me the scarf without having me party but not without an accusatory diatribe and rude words. I went to Hussein and MC&DC and he saw my JEEVES bag and asked why I went there. I told him the story and he was shocked and asked why I didn't give him the first try. To be fair I didn't have a good answer...I just thought it wouldn't be something he could do I suppose. Not sure why I thought that. So he said "let me try" and at this point I felt bad that I didn't ask in the first place. They did a good job on everything else I have had them do, so I gave it to him. Three days later I picked it up and the stain was gone. Incredible work!! He's refurbished shoes for me as well and did the job as good. A real case of the "grass is not always greener." I won't be going anywhere else for my laundry wash, dry cleaning, clothing repair, or alterations. It all goes to Hussein at Mayfair Cobblers. A family owned and run cleaners that cares about their customers and their reputation. Well done. The message? Don't be a victim of fancy marketing and a sucker for gimmick laundry bags and welcome kits. Go where they treat you like family and get the job done well for a good price.
