  Went in gyny dept for treatment .staff all brilliant and cant thank them enough...made me feel at ease and very competent and caring so a BIG thank you to you all .

  Had baby by c section and cant fault the lovely midwife Hannah, she was a positive force and made everything less traumatic....till baby went to NICU, a place where poorly babies get treated and the night shift staff openly mention and slag mothers off behind their back, running to each other with tidbits of " awkward mothers " on nettleham ward, using the parents lounge at night to sleep in suggests the staff facility's are as lacking as the nurses...when parents go to sit with their baby, they are chastised that they look tired and sent away, if they don't come to see to baby, fuel for the nightly bitchfest and constant judgement is key here, people who like being made to feel worthless should definately give birth here Also, when trying to breastfeed, machines are available but was asked twice if I was just doing it to relieve pressure or did I actually want to, made me feel like giving up, I could write a memoir on everything wrong with this hospital ç

  I had covid and was 34 weeks pregnant with twins at the time. I was told to wait outside the hospital and phone when I arrived which I did. I was left outside in the wind and rain for nearly a hour at 9pm at night by myself. I was left in rooms not knowing what was going on for hours at a time. The staff were polite but no one seemed to know what they was doing.

  Not a great place to have a baby, the main place where you will end up staying is the nettleham ward with your partner before and after giving birth to your baby, it's such a depressing place so old fashioned and run down compared to the newest part of the building downstairs where all the scans take place and upstairs (labour ward) is more up to date. Some staff were very good with my partner, some not good and talked down to her and quiet condersending talking to her as if she was a child, even my own mother didn't like the way my partner was spoken to in presence of conversation, the maternity nurse in particular kept saying what's your backup plan if you carnt breastfeed, we had formula ready at home just incase it didn't work out but was drilled into my partner as if she was a bad person for not breastfeeding or trying to. Was in for a week and they were constantly delaying the birth as people from out side giving birth jump the que if you are induced here so they will string you along as far as they can saying the pessary take 36 hours when they are for 24 hours. Partner never got any sleep as the nurses/midwives all talk/gossip loud at night and didn't shut doors to where the woman were sleeping. We wanted our son to be born in Lincoln but we wish we had gone elsewhere, this place left me upset at night driving home knowing my partner was here. By the end of the experience I just wanted my partner and son as far away from here as possible. The only better part was the labour ward was nicer and has a better vibe and the midwife staff were much better up here but you aren't up here that long before shipped back down to nettleham ward. Oh and parking is a big pain it's always full here most of the tim, so best to park somewhere like lime kiln way and walk for free. Ward does have new machines but needs bringing up to times and some staff need re training. Heard good things about Boston or Grimsby maternity units so do you research please beforehand. Ive waited a few months to write this and get this off my chest.

  What an awful place. I had my third baby in this hospital and it's absolutely awful. Nettleham ward is dirty and outdated, I had a shower and the floor was covered in someone else's blood, the same in the toilets. My baby was given the incorrect birth weight as their scales don't work properly, the midwife who visited me at home said this happens so often - just buy some new scales ???. The lady doing newborn checks coughed into her hand and then touched my baby's face and mouth. Just an awful, dreary, smelly, horrible place. I asked a lady if she knew when I was being discharged and she spoke to me like a child and shouted at me. I was so taken aback by her that I started crying and she threatened to take my baby and said I clearly couldn't cope! I explained to her that the baby isn't the issue here but her attitude and the fact that she shouted at me, she then started apologising and panicking and saying she was so sorry for her behaviour. If anyone is debating giving birth here I would honestly try and find another location it was the worst experience I've ever had in what should of been a beautiful time. It had honestly traumatised me and I hope that awful woman has been given some training on how to talk to people with compassion. I was warned about how bad the aftercare was in Nettleham ward before I have birth I just wish I had of listened.

  Going through one of my darkest times in life but the staff here in the Branston ward have made this place feel like it doesn’t have to be misery. I have met the loveliest women here and hope that they can continue to help other women feel as good as they did with me. I had support whenever I wanted and was understood with any of my choices. All my questions were answered to their best ability, and it was nice to even just have a chat about other random things. Branston has made my stay to be not completely depressing. Thanks x
