    Not been to Massimo Dutti for years but it popped up whilst searching for a wedding suit. Dropped into the store at lunch and it was immaculate with a massive range of menswear from smart to casual wear. Think it’s my new go to.

    Purchased a pair of shoes for a Christmas present which turned out to be the wrong size. I returned them at the earliest available opportunity (I was abroad over the holiday period). As my return was one day later than the latest date of return on the receipt, I was refused a refund. Also, the prior day was a weekend day anyway, on which it was not possible to return the items. After some back and forth, store manager issued a voucher of the value of the shoes but showed zero flexibility in refund. She absolutely had the ability to show more flexibility and has now lost a regular customer. You can always show flexibility on refunds, especially over the Christmas period and it will always pay dividends to customer retention in the long term!

    I visited the Cheapside store very recently with the intention of purchasing the ladies leather trench which was reduced in the sale. My visit was after work so at the time the store was not busy, including myself there were 4 customers and 3 floor staff. I spoke with one female floor staff enquiring whether the leather trench coat was in stock. I felt she replied abruptly with hostility that she would check the stockroom. I would have expected a little more friendliness and professionalism particularly as Massimo Dutti is marketed as a luxury brand. I had visited Boss Cheapside earlier in the day and customer services there was faultless. The floor staff returned 10 mins later(!) with an armful of clothes. She had obviously also used the time to carry out store tasks rather than addressing my query in a timely manner. She informed me "we are out of stock" and offered no alternatives (checking other stores, etc). I enquired about the leather trench coat that was in the window display and whether it was possible to look at it. Her reply "no as it is part of the window" was again with hostility. I asked her when the window display will be changed. Her response "don't know may be in a couple of weeks". I walked out of the store very disappointed as her manner/approach was very unprofessional. I believe this member of staff would benefit with customer service training. It was terrible experience!
