  I contacted Marsden as my house was flagged up after a routine survey with possibly having wall tie defects. I had called several companies who were asking for ridiculous prices for call outs and even worse, charging prices for wall ties by trying the fear factor with me, I didn’t get that with Marsden. The first thing is that they are PCA approved and I after talking firstly with their Admin staff who then booked me in with Neil it was evident that he knew what he was talking about. You get some companies that charge you for doing work when you don’t need to have it done but Marsden isn’t one of these, rest assured your money is safe with this company. Neil also turned up on time and gave me options and times that he could attend. His report was emailed to me 48 hours later I would definitely use this company again and have no hesitation in recommending them. Their prices also were also the BEST.

  We have had a damp problem in our hallway for many years. We have had 5 contractors out, including one of the nationals, and even as a lay person, I could tell that what they were saying just didn't sound right. I had all sorts of quotes, from £500 - £4000! I got recommended to Neil from a contact I have in Environmental Health. I called them and Neil came to visit my property. Immediately I could tell that his knowledge was far greater than the others who had been out. Everything he said made absolute sense. He explained everything in detail, showed me photographs of other properties with similar problems, and had answers to every difficult question I had planned to ask him (which most of the others didn't) I knew by the time he left, before I even got the quote, that Marsdens were the only company I was going to trust to do my work. My faith wasn't misplaced. The technicians turned up, actually shook my hand as they entered the property and introduced themselves. They then did a first class job, and left the property surprisingly tidy. 6 months later and you'd never think we'd had a problem, the wall has dried perfectly. Thanks to Neil & the team. I wouldn't go anywhere else

  I was required by my mortgage lender to get an independent damp survey completed on a house I am purchasing, it stipulated that they had to be a member of the pca or isse, there are not too many about it would seem. Marsdens got me booked in very quickly and i can't find fault with either the detail of the report, the no pressure advice to remedy any issues and also the professionalism from all the contact I had with all staff.   Neil Marsden Jnr came to look at a house we were purchasing after reports on the survey of damp. I arranged to meet him at the house in the hope he would talk me through things. He didn't, I felt like I was a nuisance being there and he barely said anything to me. He just put the moisture meter in the walls and said it was damp, didn't stipulate at the time the cause of the damp but recommended a damp proof course. When we received the report which was within a week, there was more detail but I was astonished at the cost. £2k more than another damp proofing specialist in the area. Marsden's also quoted for their specialist trademarked salt resistant plaster and everything about the quote made me think they would be ripping us off. For a damp survey I paid for, I was very disappointed. I can't comment on the work as we decided to use a different contractor who was much less corporate and a lot cheaper with the same guarantees.

  We were able to get an appointment at short notice after discovering some rot in our home. Karen was extremely helpful over the phone, managing to squeeze us in the following morning. Neil arrived promptly and got straight to work to investigate what was going on. It turned out that we were panicking over nothing and to rectify the issue, we could do it ourselves. Neil went through in detail what to do. Even telling us he could charge us to put fancy treatment on but it was pointless. He didn't even want paying for his time. In this day and age, you struggle finding honest and reputable businesses. It's a mine field out there. But I can honestly say, if we discovered any other issues in the property, Marsden's would be the first company I rang.

  Excellent service from initial phone call to diagnosis. Neil came to investigate, then promptly sent a diagnosis and costs. Everything was explained clearly and I was under no pressure whatsoever. I will recommend Marsden Damp Services Ltd to friends and family as I feel that this is a genuine company who treat people fairly.
