Went into Marine Tec to get some advice on a project I was thinking of starting. I was initially greeted by the receptionist who asked me how she could help. I asked if I could speak to someone regarding OBM’s (out board motors), to which her reply was “what’s an OBM?” I found this quite bizarre considering the line of work they do and the fact that OBM’s were all around me. I eventually spoke to, who I think was the owner/mechanic. I explained to him about my project, to which I received nothing but negativity to be honest. The conversation resulted in him saying to me “it’ll break your heart and break your wallet” to which again I found bizarre as I’ve already spent the last 10 years working on a narrowboat project, so have already experienced the “ break you heart and break your wallet “ situation. Found the whole experience with Marine Tec extremely unhelpful and to top it off, his parting words were “forget your project, you might as well go and get pissed”! Would not recommend this company or be using them in the future.
