FAQ
What is the teacher-to-student ratio in your Montessori classrooms?
At Maria Montessori Nursery School, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio in our Montessori classrooms. Our ratio is typically one teacher to ten students, which allows us to provide individualized attention and support to each child. How do you incorporate technology into your Montessori curriculum?
We believe in a hands-on, experiential approach to learning, and therefore do not heavily rely on technology in our Montessori curriculum. Yes, we offer a range of after-school programs and extracurricular activities for our students, including music lessons, art classes, and sports clubs. These programs are designed to enhance our students' learning experience and provide opportunities for them to explore their interests. How do you assess student progress and provide feedback to parents?
We use a variety of assessment methods to track our students' progress, including observation, portfolio assessments, and standardized tests. We also provide regular feedback to parents through parent-teacher conferences and progress reports. What is your approach to discipline and classroom management in the Montessori environment?
Our approach to discipline and classroom management is rooted in respect for the child and a focus on positive reinforcement. Fantastic preschool. Our daughter has loved attending this nursery. The staff are kind, caring and highly trained. They teach the children to be independent (washing up their bowls after eating and putting toys away etc), and prepare them for starting school. Great regular activities such as forest school sessions, yoga and cooking were very much enjoyed. Parent portal allowed us to see lovely photos and feedback so we could see what our daughter had been doing each week. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful, welcoming and caring environment for small children. I researched and visited many nurseries in the local area, and Maria Montessori in Hale Gardens stood out as far and away the best. Their nurturing approach to play and education as part of the Montessori system reassured me that my daughter was in safe surroundings. The staff are incredible, and very supportive to nervous children (and parents!). My daughter absolutely adores going to preschool now, and is often quite sad when it's a home day! Highly recommend.

A well organised Montessori nursery in a good safe setting with an outdoor space. The teachers are caring, the teaching methods applied are effective and all the children seem happy and well settled.

Excellent Montessori. I tried quite a few others but found this the best. Good sized facility and genuinely concerned teachers who invest a lot in each child. My child attended for 1 year before we had to leave for overseas, but I was happy throughout with the care and education. The children are taught in a stimulating yet relaxed environment. The teachers are calm and professional. My daughter enjoyed her time there and I highly recommend this institution.

Our son has been going to Maria Montessori Nursery School for more than a year now. We felt the management should have encouraged the staff to creatively use the child's interests to build on it and increase their learnings in a fun, quirky and interactive way. They need to be more inclusive, guiding parents and giving regular weekly written feedbacks. Parents need to know what their child does each day. These were the things we always wanted, having not met them we have to move our son from Maria Montessori to another nursery. I hope they work on these areas and make it a better place. Thank you. ***Post Response Reply*** Hi, With due respect, having been given an average of two brief updates per month on the app, for a child who attends three sessions per week, I don't think this is enough. Parents wouldn't want to be too intrusive by arranging meetings often to know their child's progress. I have directed you with really helpful 'Early Years Professionals' who can be of tremendous help. I hope you don't get too defensive about the current process in your nursery and make some much needed changes. Wish you all the success. Kind Regards, Taseen

Excellent Montessori with caring teachers who apply the Montessori method appropriately. Very supportive when it comes to the settling in period for newcomers. A variety of activities and a good emphasis on outdoor play. My son is happy there. Daily written feedback is not provided for children however parents have access to a portal where pictures of the children are provided.
