This is no longer the hyped upmarket Italian it was a month ago! Has inexplicably relaunched as an undifferentiated mid-market British brasserie. Friendly staff and reasonably priced food, though sadly completely deserted on a Saturday night.

Lovely restaurant hidden away in a quiet alley just away from the main road - a very pleasant, quiet place with beatiful interior. Quite a short menu, but everything was delicious.

Very attractive upmarket venue. We had the arancini, focaccia, chicken Milanese, cacio e pepe and the lamb shoulder. The focaccia was very good. It came with a delicious dip. The arancini, although very tasty, they were quite small. The lamb shoulder was a 5 out of 5, not sure about the cold salsa verde! The dish that was served in was more of a pasta bowl and not quite a good match in my opinion. Desert, tiramisu and orange sorbetto was very good.

Slightly odd location tucked behind the Warwick Road in a new build block. Though I’m all for mixed-use developments so surely a good thing to have a restaurant here. Enjoyed the various pasta dishes and bistecca all fiorentina. Nice decor etc but felt rather lacking in buzz/vibes. Also started shutting down incredibly early (this was a Wednesday) - before 10pm I think…

The restaurant can be good but the standard is sadly very unpredictable and uneven. We had a couple of good meals shortly after it had opened, an adequate dinner towards the end of last year and then a good one in January. Thursday’s lunch was, however, very disappointing. The restaurant is located in a ‘later living’ property run by Riverstone and it was almost full with the spill-over from an event with a few elderly residents and a large number of Riverstone sales and marketing staff. As a result, the restaurant was extremely noisy – which is not good in an environment supposedly specifically catering for older people. We were not given an opportunity to taste the wine which we had ordered and had to send our glasses back as the wine was totally lacking in fruit; the replacement wine from a new bottle was what we had expected. The cooking was poor – the pasta was almost inedible (not just al dente but barely cooked), the chicken liver with the pappardelle seemed to be liquidised chicken liver parfait and the chicken in the Milanese dish lacked flavour. We had eaten the same dishes in January when we enjoyed them, but on this occasion we had the impression of a very heavy hand in the kitchen. An Americano coffee with hot milk on the side had been requested but what arrived was an espresso with a small jug of hot water which meant that the water could not be properly integrated with the coffee. The best part of our lunch was the polo mints which we had afterwards to relieve our indigestion. We explained our unhappiness to Gabriella, the lovely restaurant manager, and she gave us a discount on our bill – but we would much rather have had a meal which we had enjoyed.
