This is a great place for a full day out with friends, family, or just a get away. Once it re opens there is plenty to do from mountain cycling, small animal farm, good walks, kids play area, lake & canoe, deer, confectionary, and steeped in Port Talbot history.

Over the years we have visited Margam Country Park many times and have thoroughly enjoyed our visits. On all occasions the park has always been busy, but very clean. The park spans over 500 acres, is a beautiful wedding venue and is suitable for the whole family. Admission is free, but It costs £7.20 to park the car (£1.44 based on 5 sharing). The park is open between 10am and 4.30pm. Attractions at the park include Go Ape, an outdoors clothes store, a 19th Century Grade 1 listed Tudor Gothic castle, ornamental gardens and an orangery with monastic ruins, an educational discovery centre, fairy tale land (miniature houses), several well equipped children's playgrounds, a seasonal mini train, ponds and a fishing lake, and a gift shop. It is also possible to try kayaking, canoeing, pedal go-karts and standup paddle boarding. There is a farm trail where you can meet cows, pigs, sheep, chicken's and Alpacas. Within the park there are lots of walking / cycling trails and green space to watch the wildlife including rabbits, squirrels and deer. There is ample space to enjoy a picnic (no covered area) and it is possible to hire the BBQ area at the rear of the castle. Onsite there is a cafe (Charlotte's Pantry) that offers a takeaway service. Dogs on leads are welcome at the park and there is a self service dog wash (the only one in Wales). Throughout the year the park hosts various events including family fun days, activities for children during the school holidays, living history weekends, charity walks and the Great British Food Festival for example. I would recommend a visit if the weather is dry because the park has alot to offer, there are great views and is a cheap day out to enjoy a picnic with family and friends.

Beautiful immaculate grounds and walks that include big sheep fields (with lambs), deer herds and spectacular vistas. Walks for any fitness level or just a pleasant bimble down to the big pond to look at the ducks and geese.

Great day out. It was £7.20 for car parking, but we spent all day here walking around the grounds. Got to see the deer and farm animals. Ride a train use the go karts, play giant chess and draughts. It is so beautiful here on a sunny day it is so picturesque. The kids love the park and the open space to run, kick a ball around and Climb trees. And then use the play park’s at no point do I have my feet hurt which is a bonus for me
