This campsite is just right if you want somewhere off the beaten track and quiet. This was our 3rd visit. It's a beautiful site: flat field, electric hook up if you need it and the river Nidd is just across the next field (which was wonderful and cool on the 2 very hot days we camped). The bathrooms and washing up facilities, though not new, are perfectly adequate. Thank you.

This is a great campsite, A HIDDEN GEM, tucked away in the valley. Quiet and green space. PLEASE IGNORE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, as I did and I was rewarded with finding an off the beaten track small campsite. Having read the reviews from other campers I started to fear the worst. I found it all to be the complete opposite, the owner was chatty and flexible and more importantly the main ladies toilet & shower block open. I didn’t use the shower, but I took a look and noted a fixed rain style shower head! (Facilities are a 2 min walk from our pitch. Drinking water sited on the pitches grass). This is a a different experience to the membership/club level campsites like I.e. Caravan and Motorhome camping. Price was reasonable for a two man tent one night stay to try out new kit. (This was a stop off after being in the lakes). Suitable for cyclists, bikers, cars, campers and family groups. Nearby is a shop (car drive), tea room (walk) and pub (walk). About a 1.5mile walk over the steps to the Wellington pub over fields and a hop skip over the stepping stones in the river. Nearest local shop in Summerbridge with local produce (Spar/ Corner shop level).

Stayed at the campsite for 2 nights. An amazing site in an amazing place. Was 3 adults and 5 kids altogether and wasn't bored. The river is such a lovely setting and kids loved jumping and walking over the stepping stones. Facilities are old, smelly, dirty and had no loo roll on first morning there and never got topped up. One of the male workers was rude. We got shown to the pitch by a female (maybe mother) and made sure we could set up camp there....yes she said....then once pitched the male (son maybe) came over demanding we moved all our things due to the grass and someone had already pitched there for one week. We tried but the tent pole broke. He returned and demanded again we moved. We said we couldn't due to size of tent and already damaged pole. He said we would have to leave then and couldn't stay there, told us there are plenty of campsites in the area and asked us to leave again. We said we wasn't up for leaving and he told us he has plenty of caravans and wasn't bothered for us staying there. We explained to him we are here for 2 nights and wasn't happy moving the tent. He said he wasn't bothered and drove off through the field very speedy and dangerously considering there was children around. Day 2 and the lady returned and asked for money. She wanted to charge us 10 per adult and 2.50 per child. Although we had cleared with them prior to visiting it was 20 per night per tent. We had read a review previously about them wanting to charge more. She did agree to take the 20 per night per tent. It's a shame. With better owners and looked after Facilities this place would be an absolute gem of a site. If you don't want campers then just run a caravan site. If you visit just keep youdself to yourself and keep safe and calm. Its his problem not his customers problem. I wonder what would happen should you stay for 2 weeks....would you have to move all your things are 1st week to save the grass.

AVOID!!!! Don't book this place, find somewhere else. It's a real shame as the place has so much potential; the field is great; the location is great but ultimately the owner is vile & the facilities are worse!!! On arrival it was clear the guy didn't really want campers & we were made to feel like we were constantly a chore. The toilet blocks were awful, I doubt they were ever cleaned - let alone in covid times! The photo is what the females were meant to use - not even a seat & only one toilet between the whole site. The blokes were slightly better but still never cleaned. After querying this with the owner, we got another gob full from him & he reluctantly told us he would open the rest of the female toilets around the back - these clearly hadn't been open in months & were too grim to use. The owner was constantly driving past making us feel very uncomfortable & like we were being watched. He mowed the grass within inches of our tent ropes & small playing children - when we asked him to leave a bit of space he was incredibly rude. When we were packing up he came round 4 times to look that we weren't leaving a mess, then had an argument with us about the grass - grass that's been underneath a tent!!!! It's also really expensive considering the awful facilities. The prices we were made to pay we're much higher than those on line, when we asked about this once again we got a gob full so we paid the higher prices just for him to leave us alone. We're seasoned campers & are respectful on every trip but this guy was just out to argue from the moment we arrived. My advice - don't risk it - find another site.

The location and field would get 5* but the rude, aggressive and unwelcoming owner alongside lack of maintenance with toilet facilities are the reason for my poor review. If the owner is willing to take the highly priced pitch fees he should not complain about the grass after or having to open the female loos to avoid young girls walking in on men using urinals. Shame 😏

Really nice campsite. The tent field has handy picnic benches and cooking/BBQ facilities. There is a river than runs very close by only 1 minute walk away perfect for a dip on a hot day.

Brilliant campsite in an amazing location with plenty of facilities and space. David the owner is very welcoming and made sure we all had a great stay. Highly recommended for camping or camper vans. The local pub is interesting to get to as you need to walk through the river Nidd as the stepping stones arent complete when the water level is high.

Campsite located in the heart of Nidderdale which is beautiful. Amazing walks, river paddling, local attractions and close to Pateley Bridge, Harrogate and Ripon. The campsite is a woodland haven, with so much birdlife.
