I’ve bought fish from here a few times and unfortunately they have always ended up dead in a short space of time. The fish I get from Pets at Home last longer, and they are supposed to have a bad rep. They have a good selection but I will not be shopping here again as I question the quality/health of the fish.

I called in to Manor aquatics as I wanted to re-home my pleco, I had no expectation that they would offer money or store credit, which was fine. When it came to taking in the fish, she said that she had to ask her brother and to come during the weekday, I said sorry I am working, she went and checked to see if I could come in and hand in my fish and she said yes it’s fine. Why she needed to check with her brother in the first place is beyond me. When I arrived at Manor Aquatics, the place was just as miserable as the people who run the place - It looked like a POST APOCALYPTIC CESSPIT!!! After handing in my pleco, I had a bit of small talk with them (they didn’t seem interested). I then asked how much the discus were, the daughter told me that it was £60 for a small discus and £90 for a large discus (they weren’t that large). I needed to buy some ammonia & nitrate treatment and the daughter had the audacity to charge me 10p for a bag (this is the first local business I have visited that charges for a plastic bag), despite parting with my pleco (just the principle), it’s no big deal, I didn’t want to keep the pleco any longer. I’ve kept fish for over 20 years, treated them for a variety of illnesses, bred plecos (both common and bristle nose). A lot of their fish appear to be on the brink of death at extortionate prices. These people have no concept of business, let alone charge an extortionate amount for fish. If you are local to the whole of London, stay away from manor aquatics. I would suggest Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green or Wildwoods in Enfield. They both have better selection of healthy fish and the environment is friendly with the fish well looked after. You don’t want to visit a place where you will expect dirty looks and dull miserable people! They are quite likely to give me some spiel about rising costs, soaring freight costs/supply costs being too high or tell me to go and complain to the government about 10p bag or their quality of fish being second to none or whatever stupid response they have given to other people who have given them a poor review - I gave them a chance, I visited the place and even after reading the reviews after visiting Manor Aquatics and seeing it for myself, I am extremely glad I didn’t buy any fish from them. Either way, the reviews are clear proof that they won’t admit that their standards had fallen short. There’s no excuse for poor service or lacking a warm and friendly demeanour.

Rude staff I was there by 3pm I was having a look at the aquarium with my kid and he was confused about what fish to pick so I gave him some time, exactly less than 15 mins the staff insisted that I should buy something fast, since they are going to close the store. I just left the store without getting anything. Bad experience.

Tried to visit to buy 10m flexible pond hose. Didn’t get much past the front door before two ladies shouted “no bikes”. There was room against some boxes by the door which I asked if I could use, no one else in the shop. “No bikes!” Poor experience and I still need the hose.
